Viktor Gy\u00f6keres has set his sights on a move to Manchester United after a heavy defeat, despite being pursued by Arsenal and Chelsea.<\/p>\n
The Swedish forward is attracting interest from some of the world\u2019s biggest clubs following an incredible run of form at Sporting Lisbon. In his first season with the Portuguese club, Gy\u00f6keres scored 43 goals in 50 appearances and is on track to exceed that total this term, having already netted 24 goals in just 19 games.<\/p>\n
The 26-year-old, who was playing in the Championship with Coventry City less than 18 months ago, has also scored three hat-tricks this season, including one in the Champions League against Manchester City.<\/p>\n
Manchester United have been linked with Gy\u00f6keres for months, with rumors intensifying after his manager left Sporting Lisbon to take over at Old Trafford. United have struggled with goal-scoring this season, and Marcus Rashford played as a striker in Ruben Amorim\u2019s first game in charge, ahead of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.<\/p>\n
Arsenal, facing their own issues in attack, were also linked with several strikers over the summer, including Alexander Isak of Newcastle, while Chelsea had been in pursuit of Victor Osimhen before a deal fell through on transfer deadline day.<\/p>\n

With a release clause of just \u00a365 million, Gy\u00f6keres is expected to draw significant interest ahead of the January window, and reports suggest he has his heart set on a move to Manchester United, according to The Sun. He is eager to join the Premier League and believes a reunion with Amorim at Old Trafford would be the best career move, even if it means turning down offers from Arsenal and Chelsea, both of which are higher in the table.<\/p>\n
Gy\u00f6keres\u2019 contributions helped Sporting Lisbon win the Primeira Liga last season, and the club currently holds a six-point lead at the top of the table, while sitting second in their Champions League group.<\/p>\n
Former Premier League defender William Gallas is a big fan of Gy\u00f6keres and believes Arsenal have \u201cno chance\u201d of securing his signature. \u201cHe will choose Manchester United,\u201d Gallas told Genting Casino. \u201cHe will follow Ruben Amorim to United, and I think he\u2019d suit Arsenal\u2019s team too.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ex-Premier League manager Tim Sherwood has also praised Gy\u00f6keres, calling him a \u201cmust\u201d for Manchester United, who he believes lack attacking depth. \u201cGy\u00f6keres is a must for United,\u201d Sherwood told Ladbrokes. \u201cHe knows English football, and he\u2019s been brilliant in Portugal, especially in the Champions League. United desperately need a striker, and right now they have just one: Rasmus Hojlund.
