The\u00a0Lakers\u00a0head into the 2024-25 season with lots of optimism under new head coach JJ Redick. After a disappointing 2023-24 season, the team turned to the first-time head coach to replace Darvin Ham.<\/p>\n

The roster Redick will coach is nearly identical to the one Ham struggled with for most of the season, for better or worse. Ultimately, the team only saw Spencer Dinwiddie and Taurean Prince leave in free agency. Replacing them were rookies Dalton Knecht and Bronny James.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, the Lakers will also head into the season without an open roster spot. In many years prior under vice president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka, the team has kept a roster spot open to make an in-season signing.<\/p>\n

However, a new CBA and some pesky player options this offseason mean the Lakers are effectively running it back, for better or for worse. While in-season changes are certainly possible and maybe even likely, this is the roster the Lakers will have at least at the beginning of the year.<\/p>\n

The team does also enter with three new two-way players than they ended with last year. Quincy Olivari\u00a0was one of the stories of the preseason\u00a0while Christian Koloko\u00a0is an intriguing player who has a high ceiling, if he gets cleared by the NBA.<\/p>\n

All that being said, here\u2019s a look at their roster heading into the start of the regular season:<\/p>\n
