Alexander Isak has lifted the lid on his Newcastle future<\/p>\n

Several of Europe\u2019s elite teams, including Arsenal, took notice of the striker after he scored 25 goals in 40 games last season.<\/p>\n

In the summer, there were some initial discussions about a possible deal, but they have since stalled and will not be resumed.<\/p>\n

Isak and Newcastle reportedly had a \u201cbreakdown\u201d as a result of this.<\/p>\n

Since his current contract is not due to expire until 2028, SunSport has learned that neither the player nor the club consider a new contract to be an urgent matter.<\/p>\n

\u201cThroughout my career, I have never talked about or really commented on the move rumours during the season,\u201d Isak told The Chronicle.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere have been many such years where it has been talked about. It does not affect me.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am commenting on my situation in Newcastle and I have never had any problem there.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am fully focused on my task there and that we will have a fantastic season.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are still great opportunities for that. I have no thoughts about anything else.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only thing I can say is that a lot of information and rumours often come out but much of what I read is not true.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is about all I can say about the whole thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Isak\u00a0has scored five goals in 11 games this season and is believed to still be wanted by Arsenal.<\/p>\n

Newcastle could\u00a0demand more than \u00a3100million\u00a0for the 25-year-old Swede, who they signed for \u00a363m from Real Sociedad in 2022.<\/p>\n
