The Kansas City Chiefs marked their fifth win of the season on Oct. 7 when they defeated the New Orleans Saints, 26-13, at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Unfortunately for Travis Kelce, his home was reportedly burglarized during the game, which according to a report by TMZ Sports, was suspected to be “part of a larger crime spree in the area.”
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ Belton, Missouri estate was reportedly also robbed just hours prior.
Taylor Swift, Kelce’s girlfriend of more than a year, was in attendance for that game in Kansas City. Being one of, if not the most popular celebrity on the planet right now, one can only expect an urgent reaction from her security detail once they learned about the break-in.
True enough, TMZ Sports reports that Swift and Kelce’s security “wasn’t playing around” after the shocking turn of events. This is exactly why the couple opted not to spend the night in Kelce’s Leawood, Kansas mansion immediately after the burglary.
“Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ … Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift didn’t take any chances during last month’s break-in at his home,” reported TMZ Sports. “Our sources say Travis and Taylor stayed at a downtown Kansas City hotel on the night of the Oct. 7th burglary, after the Chiefs’ ‘Monday Night Football’ showdown with the Saints at Arrowhead Stadium.”
Per TMZ Sports, the break-in at Kelce’s home happened at around 7:33 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, which was shortly after the Saints game had started.
A document reportedly indicates that $20,000 was taken from Kelce’s home and that the back door sustained “damage.”
Swift was in attendance again at Arrowhead on Monday as she supported Kelce in their hard-fought 16-14 victory against the Denver Broncos. The two-time defending champions are now 9-0 and will be looking to keep their incredible streak alive when they take on Josh Allen and the 8-2 Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
