Micah Parsons resorted to damage control after his trade speculations ran rampant on social media, hinting at a deteriorating relationship with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. The All-Pro pass rusher confided that the situation is completely different from what the media wants people to believe.
During Wednesday’s post-training presser from Arlington, Parsons shared a story about Jones, which has remained in the dark since February 2024. In the days leading up to the Super Bowl game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers in Vegas, Parsons was busy attending Pro Bowl games.
As the Cowboys failed to make it past the wild card, their players had to watch the game from their couch. However, Parsons got lucky as Jones, while on his way to the Allegiant Stadium, picked him up and had a one-to-one bonding time.
He broke me down about life and football and how he sees the players, how he sees the team, and where he wants to go with us. The fact that he did that with me, it goes to show that our relationship is growing and he trusts me.

Micah Parsons explained Jerry Jones isn’t like the other owners in the NFL
Jones has come under a lot of criticism over the years for failing to build a Cowboys team strong enough to win the Super Bowl since the ‘90s. The veteran owner is under immense pressure as the Cowboys succumbed to their fifth defeat in eight games this season and are on the verge of missing out on the playoffs.

Besides the on-field problems, several former players accused Jones of focusing more on making the Cowboys a cash cow instead of a competent football team. Parsons, on the other hand, quashed all the theories by siding with the 82-year-old.
A lot of owners don’t care. Jerry cares about how comfortable we are; he cares about this facility… when you got an owner like that, actually cares and actually wants to be involved in this process instead of like, ‘This is a moneymaker; this is about money to me.’ His heart is in it.
